The Philadelphia Phillies have announced that the team has no new positive COVID-19 results after Friday’s round of testing.
Starting Saturday afternoon, the team says players will be permitted to access Citizens Bank Park for staggered workouts.
MLB postponed the Phillies’ weekend series against the Toronto Blue Jays in Philadelphia on Thursday after two staff members tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, activity at Citizens Bank Park had been suspended earlier this week.
On Friday, MLB announced 29 positive COVID-19 tests from its latest round of testing over the last week through to July 30. Of the 29 positive results, according to the league, 20 were players and nine were staff members, and 21 of the positive tests came from a single team.
The Phillies are scheduled to resume play on Tuesday when they are set to host the Miami Marlins, although the situation is obviously a fluid one as Miami continues to deal with its own outbreak.
